NEW YORK – Six people were injured after a taxi cab struck a group of pedestrians outside the Herald Square Macy’s on Christmas Day.
The incident happened just after 4 p.m. at 34th Street and 6th Avenue.
Authorities say a yellow cab jumped the curb and struck the victims.
A 9-year-old boy sustained a laceration to his right side, while a 41-year-old woman sustained a head injury. Both were taken to Weill Cornell Medical Center.
A 49-year-old woman sustained a leg injury, and was taken to Bellevue Hospital. All three are said to be in stable condition.
Three other victims, a 49-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman and a 19-year-old woman sustained minor injuries and refused further medical attention.
The driver of the taxi is a 58-year-old man. Police say they do not know why or what caused him to hit the pedestrians.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
