Quarterback Bryce Young showed the Panthers what they needed to see.
The second-year quarterback, the 2023 NFL Draft’s No. 1 overall pick, was stellar in leading Carolina on an opening-drive touchdown against the Buffalo Bills in Week 3 of the preseason.
Young looked much more like the Alabama quarterback who won the 2021 Heisman than the one with a disastrous first NFL season.
He finished 6-of-8 for 70 yards and a touchdown.
On his best throw, he evaded pressure, kept his eyes downfield and delivered an on-target 17-yard pass on the run to wide receiver Diontae Johnson.
