
Greater than 5 dozen individuals had been taken into custody Tuesday night time throughout a protest towards the Trump administration’s immigration insurance policies in Manhattan.
Prompted by the alleged look of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers at a Hilton Backyard Inn in Tribeca, a crowd of protesters rallied on the Sixth Avenue lodge in Tribeca.
The group flooded the lodge foyer round 6 p.m., chanting and carrying indicators in protest of the lodge firm’s reported housing of federal immigration brokers. Their indicators learn: “Hilton, do not let ICE keep,” and “Hilton: cease housing ICE.”

The NYPD mentioned responding officers gave the protesters repeated instructions to go away and, after almost an hour, moved in to clear the lodge foyer.
A complete of 66 individuals, based on the division, had been taken into custody. Sixty-four individuals had been issued summonses for trespassing and disorderly conduct, and two others had been issued desk look tickets for resisting arrest. No accidents had been reported to officers or protesters.
It wasn’t clear if ICE brokers had been staying on the Hilton Backyard when the protest occurred. Nobody from the Division of Homeland Safety responded to a request for remark.
A spokesperson for Zohran Mamdani mentioned the mayor was “happy” that the protest “concluded with out violence.”
