Seaview Gardens has given the world Bounty Killer and Elephant Man. Now it has given us Wilful Skilful. The Kingston-born artist has launched his debut EP, Progress, seven tracks that chart an unfiltered journey from starvation to elevation. Launched by way of Dasvibes and Double Hungry Music, arrives like a declaration.
Wilful carries Seaview Gardens with him all over the place. The legendary Kingston neighbourhood that birthed Elephant Man and Dexta Daps runs deep in his music. A protégé of dancehall famous person Bounty Killer, he carries the burden of that lineage with satisfaction, function and the lyrical precision to again it up.
Progress opens with Bold, and the temper is ready immediately: pushed, hungry, resolute. The EP strikes by way of heat on Name On Me, uncooked grit on Double Hungry, and street-level pressure on Run Up and My Gun.
THE KIND OF DEBUT YOU FEEL EVERY MILE OF
Its emotional peak arrives with Mus Overcome, a soulful collaboration with the enduring Wayne Surprise. The monitor bridges dancehall’s golden period and its daring future. Lastly, I A Win closes the EP on a triumphant notice, a victory anthem that carries the complete weight of all the pieces that got here earlier than it.
The momentum is already world. The viral success of Bold led Wilful to open for Bounty Killer at Brooklyn’s Barclays Middle, arriving by personal jet in a historic second. Subsequent comes the Progress EP Worldwide Tour 2026, spanning the UK, USA, Japan, and Australia.
As DJ Wade places it: “Progress is the form of debut that makes you are feeling each mile of the journey.”
That claims all of it.
