A big fireplace nearly fully destroyed a luxurious resort within the Dominican Republic on Friday, forcing the evacuation of just about 1,700 vacationers, authorities mentioned.
Native media reported an Italian vacationer died within the fireplace and a number of other different vacationers required medical help.
The Viva Dominicus Seashore by Wyndham resort is positioned in Bayahibe, a well-liked vacation spot for U.S. and worldwide vacationers on the Dominican Republic’s southeastern coast.
