During the Timberwolves’ 110-103 loss to the Lakers on Tuesday, Anthony Edwards attempted 25 shots, with only two other players receiving double-digit shot attempts — Julius Randle (10) and Donte DiVincenzo (11).
It was evident that Minnesota coach Chris Finch made a concerted effort to run a lot of ISO action for Edwards, featuring the young guard in nearly every offensive set when he was on the floor. In contrast, the Timberwolves ran a lot of high PNR for Mike Conley and Karl-Anthony Towns last year, with Edwards slashing to the rim or coming off dribble handoffs in possessions where he wasn’t the focus.
Former Timberwolves guard Patrick Beverley is quietly concerned about his former team’s new-look offense.
