Although the New York Jets have had a disastrous season, the team at least had something to cheer about on Sunday.
WR Davante Adams gave the Jets a 17-16 lead on the Jacksonville Jaguars late in the third quarter with this TD catch, which gave the veteran his 100th career TD.
Adams’ one-yard score, which capped a 70-yard drive, was his fourth TD since joining New York.
While the TD catch against the Jaguars was only Adams’ 13th since the start of the 2023 season, he has had a remarkable career up to this point.
According to Pro Football Reference, Adams was tied for the 12th-most receiving TDs all time coming into the game. After hitting the century mark on Sunday, Adams moves into a tie for 10th all time.
Although the Jaguars retook the lead, 22-17, courtesy of a 19-yard TD from rookie WR Brian Thomas Jr. with 10:58 remaining in the game, the Jets had a moment worth celebrating.
Considering the way the 2024 season has gone, that has not been a frequent occurrence for the struggling franchise.
