Soca legend Machel Montano will headline not one but three shows during Labor Day Weekend at The Apollo in Harlem, NYC, this year.
Originally scheduled for a single performance on Friday 30 August, the iconic artist’s shows have been extended to include Saturday 31 August, and an additional show on Sunday 1 September, promising a series of unforgettable nights.
In addition to Machel Montano’s solo performances, the weekend will culminate in a star-studded event, Calypso Uptown: A Carnival Celebration, on Monday 2 September. This celebration will feature a lineup of calypso greats, including Lord Papa Nelson, Rikki Jai, Mical Teja, Gypsy, Lyrikal, Farmer Nappy, Kurt Allen, Myron B and Crazy hosted by Majah Hype, with more artists to be announced.
Traditionally, many head to the Parkway for Labor Day festivities, but this year, Harlem will be the place to be. With three shows featuring Machel Montano and a grand carnival celebration, The Apollo is set to transform Harlem into the ultimate destination for this year’s Labor Day Weekend.
