The Oddroots flip the highlight on their music Consciousness with a studio dwell session filmed at Studio Miriam in Rome. The observe, from their self-titled debut EP launched in 2024 by Surna Data, blends roots reggae with soulful melodies, layered with Afro-inspired rhythms and a commanding horn part that drives the vitality ahead.

Fifteen musicians from Senegal, Colombia, Germany and Italy joined this recording, crafting a wealthy, intimate, and expansive sound. Collectively, they create a vibrant mixture of cultures and kinds. Producers Edoardo Persico, Nicolò Marano and Giovanni Pellegrino seize the ensemble’s synergy, permitting each voice and instrument house to shine.

THE LIVE SESSION FEELS LIKE A JOURNEY, TRANSPORTING LISTENERS ACROSS CULTURES AND SOUNDS

The band had already launched a dub model of Consciousness on the finish of 2024, remixed by Paolo Baldini DubFiles. Whereas the dub explored textures and echoes, the dwell session focuses on human interaction and the music’s layered, acutely aware vitality. It highlights how collaboration brings the observe to life.

Furthermore, the video looks like a journey, shifting listeners throughout cultures and sounds, presenting reggae as a dwelling, world language. Each word displays the band’s philosophy: music bridges individuals, and rhythm acts as a unifying pulse.

Fashioned in Rome in 2020, The Oddroots combine ska and roots reggae with soul, jazz, funk and hip-hop. Their lineup advanced with every launch, from the debut single Strangers to a full ensemble of drums, bass, guitars, keys, horns and vocals. 

In 2021, they received the Jazzology class of the Laziosound contest, held by the Lazioregion. In 2024, Ibrahima N’díaye joined, shaping their first EP. Afro-inspired rhythms and a powerful horn part outline their sound.
