American Olympic canoeist indicted for alleged vandalism of Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool

WASHINGTON — Former Olympic canoeist David Hearn has been indicted by a grand jury on prices associated to an incident on the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool final month.

DC US Attoney Jeanine Pirro scheduled a 2:30 p.m. announcement Thursday to element the indictment, which was first reported by CNN.

Hearn was arrested June 19 amid the Trump administration’s crackdown on alleged vandalism on the Reflecting Pool, which has been stricken by algae and peeling sealant regardless of greater than $16 million in renovations.

Hearn, 67, claimed to the Washington Submit he was arrested after selecting up a chunk of the pool’s liner that was floating within the water.

“I didn’t vandalize something,” claimed Hearn, who competed on the Summer season Video games for the US in 1992, 1996 and 2000. “I didn’t destroy or break or peel something. By the point I noticed what was happening, I used to be being put in handcuffs.”
