German international, Bruno Labbadia had reportedly rejected the job of the Super Eagles head coach after he failed to reach an agreement with the body governing football in Nigeria.
Daily Post confirmed the news on its official website on Friday, August 30, 2024. According to reports, the 58-year-old rejected the chance to manage the Super Eagles of Nigeria after failing to reach an agreement with the NFF.
NFF reportedly failed to reach a contractual agreement with the former Germany international striker before making the announcement. The NFF announced on its official X account on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, through the General Secretary of the body, that Bruno Labbadia will be the new head coach of the Super Eagles.
Bruno Labbadia was initially expected to take charge of the Super Eagles for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixtures against Benin Republic and Rwanda. However, this means that the technical director of the NFF, Austin Eguavoen, could now take charge of the team for both games.
A list of 23 players has already been unveiled to prosecute the fixtures before the latest development.
