Conor Gallagher sent an emotional message to Chelsea supporters following his exit from the London Club to join Spanish side, Atletico Madrid on a permanent move.
The England international posted the video on his official Instagram account on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, thanking everyone for the support that was shown to him during his time at Stamford Bridge. According to him, every moment that he spent at the club will remain in his memory.
What did Conor Gallagher say to Chelsea supporters?
He said,
“To everyone at Chelsea, thank you for making my dreams come true. It’s been an absolute honour every time I put on the shirt, and it was a dream come true to captain the team on many occasions. I loved every moment. These memories will last forever. I appreciate all the love and support from the fans. Hearing the chant of my name at the Bridge is a special feeling, and the banner you displayed [against Spurs] meant the world to me. Thank you for everything. I wish the club all the best for the future, and I hope to see you all soon at Stamford Bridge.”
Recall that Conor Gallagher reportedly rejected a two-year deal with an option to extend by an extra year. It was also reported that Chelsea informed the midfielder that he was not going to be a first-team player If he decides to remain at the club after the end of this transfer window closes.
Gallagher is one of the players who will leave Chelsea this season as the club continues to build their team under new manager Enzo Maresca. The supporters of the Blues will hope that the players left behind will be able to fill the boots that Gallagher left behind.
