The Dallas Cowboys lost the leader of their offense in the fourth quarter of their game with the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
Down 27-13 with over 11 minutes remaining in regulation, backup quarterback Cooper Rush was inserted into the game after starter Dak Prescott was ruled out with a hamstring injury, per the Fox broadcast.
It’s unclear when Prescott may have injured his hamstring. On Dallas’ previous drive he led the offense to a 57-yard field goal.
Prescott was seen standing on the sideline during Rush’s first drive of the game, and no limp or ginger walk was visible.
However, replay showed him sitting on the bench receiving attention from medical staff where one person is seen attending to his throwing hand. There is no report from the team detailing any injury to his right hand as of now.
Fans will be paying close attention to head coach Mike McCarthy’s post-game news conference for any updates on Prescott’s condition.
Dallas has a crucial divisional matchup with the Philadelphia Eagles upcoming in Week 10, something Prescott will likely not want to miss.
The Cowboys have a 9-8 record all-time without Prescott under center, only winning one of three meetings against Philadelphia without him playing.
