On a busy Kingston road within the early 2000s, Mr Nico and Inspecta Derrick have been behind the decks, spinning tracks that drew crowds and formed their musical id. That vitality, the late-night sound programs and metropolis rhythms, types the heartbeat of Derrick Sound’s Upliftment, their homage to reggae’s golden early 2000s.

Now, as leaders on the European and worldwide scene by way of their label Proof Music, Derrick Sound channels that formative vitality into Upliftment.
