Nollywood actress and producer Funke Akindele’s latest project, Everybody Loves Jenifa, premiered on Sunday, December 8, 2024, in Lagos, and it was a night to remember.
The movie features an all-star cast, including singers Falz and D’banj, who both spoke glowingly about Funke Akindele.
Falz, who has been a part of the Jenifa’s Diary series since its inception, praised Funke Akindele as someone he admires and inspires him. He described the project as “beautiful” and said joining the cast was a “no-brainer” for him.
D’banj, on the other hand, revealed that Funke Akindele has always been like a sister to him and that he has always wanted to work with her. He expressed his gratitude for being under her mentorship and praised her for her dedication to her craft.
Also, a video has surfaced showing Funke Akindele expressing her appreciation to D’banj for his involvement in the project. According to her, D’banj put his own project on hold to support her and even refused payment for his feature in the movie.
The premiere of Everybody Loves Jenifa was attended by several celebrities, including Lagbaja, who performed at the after-party. Fans have taken to social media to praise Falz and D’banj for their kind words about Funke Akindele, with one fan commenting, “Wow Jenifa will be 10 years next year. They need to party.”
