Families and friends often visit pumpkin patches to choose pumpkins for carving into Jack-o’-lanterns, a practice that originates from Irish folklore. This activity allows participants to enjoy the outdoors and fosters a sense of community and seasonal celebration.
Typically held from late September through October, pumpkin picking is often accompanied by other festive activities, such as hayrides, corn mazes, and harvest festivals. Many pumpkin patches also offer additional attractions, making it a delightful outing for people of all ages.
Fortunately, the UK has many pumpkin patches to explore this October.
