With lyrics exploring themes of submission, attraction, respect, and fantasy, “Match” unveils a more risqué and open side of Jah9.
This release is part of Jah9’s Open Heart Project, a four-part series exploring the stages of relationships. Following her previous single, “Open Heart,” which chronicled her journey of self-discovery in Tanzania, “Match” delves into courtship and the joy of self-expression in the presence of the right partner. “It’s an ode to the freedom a woman feels to fully express herself in the presence of the right kind of man,” Jah9 explains.
The music video for “Match” marks the first in a series of storytelling visuals, combining sensuality, vulnerability, and connection. Fresh off her “Jah9 in Japan” tour, where she performed in cities like Tokyo and Osaka, Jah9 continues to cement her influence in the reggae world.
