It might take a little while for Liverpool supporters to see their first choice goalkeeper in goal, Allison Becker, after he picked up an injury before their last Premier League game against Bournemouth.
Liverpool’s head coach, Arne Slot, confirmed in a pre-match press conference before the League Cup game against West Ham United. According to him, Allison Becker is close to fitness, but he would out for the game against the Hammers in the third round of the League Cup.
According to Slot, Alisson’s availability for the match depends on his progress, and Caoimhin Kelleher is on standby to replace him if needed. However, this is not the first time Kelleher has filled in for Alisson, having done so multiple times last season.
He said,
“We are looking at the weekend versus Wolves, but it’s going to be tight. He will not be there tomorrow vs West Ham”.
The issue started before the AC Milan game, but Alisson felt it more severely afterwards, causing him to miss training for the game against the Cherries.
