Carlo Ancelotti has included Real Madrid’s forward player, Kylian Mbappe in the team list for the UEFA Champions League game against Ligue 1 side, Lille despite being on the club’s injury list.
Kylian Mbappe sustained an injury on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, in their La Liga win over Alaves, but he was unavailable for Sunday’s 1-1 derby draw at Atletico Madrid. According to reports, he was initially expected to be out for at least three weeks which is until after the upcoming international break.
The Frenchman already has five La Liga goals to his name and has scored in each of his last four appearances, but he will not be involved at the Metropolitano Stadium as he battles a thigh injury.
Real Madrid’s statement on Kylian Mbappe’s injury
“Following the tests carried out today on our player Kylian Mbappé by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the femoral biceps of his left leg.”
The team’s first-choice goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois was not included in the squad after suffering a hip muscle injury against Atletico Madrid.
