The future of Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk at Liverpool Football Club has been a doubt in the last few months as both players enter the final few months of their contracts.
There have been unrest among Liverpool supporters as there are rumours that two of their first-team players could be leaving Anfield at the end of this current season ( 2024/25). Mohamed Salah has been vocal in the past few days about the lack of communication between himself and the club concerning a new contract.
However, Liverpool supporters can sigh a breath of relief after renowned sports journalist, David Orstien of the Athletic confirmed on its website that Van Dijk have seen Liverpool table an opening bid to keep the 33-year-old beyond this season.
There are reports that the board will also open talks with Salah as they are looking to extend the contract with the Egyptian. Trent Alexander-Arnold is also part of the players whose contract will expire this season.
The England international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid but there are also reports that the Reds will also extend his contract.
