First woman Melania Trump shocked journalists Friday by saying that she has had an “open channel” with Russian President Vladimir Putin that’s yielded the reunification of eight Ukrainian kids with their households.
“A toddler’s soul is aware of no borders,” the primary woman started her intently held announcement within the White Home grand lobby.
Melania Trump wrote a letter to Putin that was delivered at President Trump’s Aug. 15 Alaska summit together with his Russian counterpart and “a lot has unfolded since President Putin obtained my letter,” she stated.
Putin replied to her letter and “since then President Putin and I’ve had an open channel of communication,” the Slovenia-born former vogue mannequin stated, describing “a number of again channel conferences and calls” which have taken place.
“My consultant has been working immediately with President Putin’s group” to attach kids and their households, Melania Trumps stated.
Eight youngsters have been returned to households over previous 24 hours, she stated, together with one who was introduced from Ukraine to her household in Russia, and “plans are already underway” for additional reunifications.
