The 55th Annual African American Day Parade in Harlem is a lively and joyous celebration, drawing together a diverse crowd of marchers and spectators. This vibrant event is organized by the African American Day Parade (AADP), a proud Black-owned nonprofit that stands as a testament to the richness of Black culture, heritage, and legacy.

Each year, on the third Sunday in September, the streets of Harlem transform into a colorful tapestry of pride and unity. The parade unfolds on the historically significant Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard, a place deeply entrenched in the narrative of Black history. Formerly known as Seventh Avenue, this iconic thoroughfare serves as the perfect backdrop for the festivities.

As the parade routes along Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard from 111th Street to 136th Street, the air is filled with the sounds of uplifting music, spirited cheers, and the joyous laughter of children. Floats adorned with vibrant decorations and exuberant performances celebrate the diversity and creativity of the Black community, creating a visual feast for all participants and observers alike. This event not only honors the past but also inspires future generations to continue the legacy of pride and resilience.

The show was an extraordinary spectacle, expertly brought to life by Jammin Entertainment Complex. Tarrus Riley and Friends, accompanied by the talented Dean Fraser, illuminated the stage during a breathtaking live concert at the stunning Brooklyn Paramount in NYC.

Reggae singer Tarrus Riley, the proud son of the legendary Jamaican reggae artist Jimmy Riley, is forging his own unique path in the music industry. His melodies are rich with social consciousness, weaving themes of love and empowerment, particularly aimed at uplifting the youth. As a devoted member of the Rastafari movement, Tarrus infuses his performances with a deep understanding of the spiritual essence of music, transforming each live show into a heartfelt and transformative experience.

On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Tarrus Riley grace the stage of the beautiful Paramount Theater in Brooklyn, NY.

Reflecting on the Tarrus Riley show, I can genuinely say it was nothing short of breathtaking. The music flowed effortlessly, creating an enchanting atmosphere charged with anticipation and excitement. Tarrus captivated the audience with his dynamic presence, engaging us on every emotional level. The vibe was electrifying, filled with joy and a sense of unity that pulsated through the crowd. His vibrant energy was palpable, and every note resonated with powerful lyrics that struck a chord in our hearts.

The venue itself added to the experience—exceedingly well-managed, with attentive security ensuring our comfort and impressively clean restrooms, all of which contributed to a seamless and enjoyable night. The entire evening was a celebration of music, love, and community that will be remembered long after the last note faded.

Additionally, in adherence to the official request by the President of the United States, Joseph R. Biden Jr., the date of October 9, 2023, has been formally declared as Columbus Day, signifying a time for reflection and unity in honor of this enduring legacy.
 

2023 THE HISPANIC DAY PARADE NYC.

In 2023, the Hispanic Day Parade in New York City was a magnificent display that showcased the rich and diverse cultural heritage of the Hispanic community. The parade featured an array of vibrant dancers in traditional attire, enchanting floats adorned with colorful decorations, majestic flags representing different Hispanic countries, and spirited musical performances that filled the air with infectious rhythms. 
 
Spanning Fifth Avenue from 44th to 69th streets, the parade drew an awe-inspiring crowd of an estimated one million spectators, creating a bustling and lively atmosphere that resonated with joy and unity. As the parade made its way towards Central Park and the Upper East Side, it brought an infectious sense of celebration to the entire neighborhood. 
 
This grand celebration took place in October, known as Hispanic Heritage Month, and served as a monumental tribute to the countless contributions made by the Hispanic community in building the fabric of the nation. Given that New York City is the largest Hispanic city in the country, the parade served as a powerful representation of the rich and vibrant traditions from various Hispanic motherlands, reminding revelers of their roots and the importance of preserving these traditions for generations to come.

2023 AFRICAN-AMERICAN DAY PARADE IN HARLEM NYC.

The African American Day Parade in Harlem is a prominent annual event held in September, attracting participants from at least 12 states and standing as one of the largest African American parades in the country. The parade’s route begins in Harlem on West 111th Street, continuing north along Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard (7th Ave.) before culminating at West 136th Street.

The African American Day Parade, Inc. (AADP) was firmly established in 1968 by the collaborative efforts of Afro-American Day and the United Federation of Black Community Organizations. The inaugural meeting was convened at 2315 Seventh Avenue in Harlem, NY under the guidance of esteemed community leaders Livingston Wingate and Conrad Peters.
