In his pre-match press conference, Pep Guardiola shared what has been categorised as the latest update on the injury of Kevin De Bruyne.
Manchester City’s coach Pep Guardiola has shared the latest update on Kevin De Bruyne’s thigh injury sustained in the early part of the season. Fixtures for the 2024/2025 season are coming in thick and fast.
The head coach revealed that the Belgian’s injury is still not close to being healed, keeping him out of action for a few more weeks.
This is a concerning update for City fans, as De Bruyne has been out for some time with a groin issue. The midfielder was forced off during a Champions League match against Inter and hasn’t returned to the pitch since.
It is undeniable that Kevin De Bruyne is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to Pep’s side as he improves the City team and, while they’ve been able to move to the top of the table without him.
Guardiola said, “I would like to tell you, especially I would like to know it, but I don’t know right now” Guardiola said when asked when De Bruyne will be back. He feels that he can train, but not to go to that level that we need in competition. When you kick the ball or something, he still has pain and he doesn’t feel [right]. Kevin has to feel good to express his huge talent that he has. He’s feeling better, but not the best.”
