Nigerian singer Skales has clarified the misconception that fellow artist Wizkid contributed to his success.
In a series of posts on X, Skales credited Olamide, Timaya, Banky W, and Burna Boy for their support but emphasized that Wizkid did not play a role in his career advancement.
Skales, who was formerly signed to Banky W‘s Empire Mates Entertainment (EME) alongside Wizkid, stated, “Put some respect on my name… Banky W deserves the praise and respect for believing in teenagers.” Also, he acknowledged collaborative benefits with Burna Boy but stressed that no one helped launch his career.
“I love Burna, but don’t say he helped me… Only my fans and God’s grace,” Skales wrote. Additionally, he expressed his desire to focus on music, avoiding negative energy.
Meanwhile, this clarification about contribution to his success comes amidst speculation about the dynamics between Skales and Wizkid. Lastly, they have both achieved significant success since their time at EME.
