When Texas Longhorns starting quarterback Quinn Ewers went down with an abdominal injury in Saturday’s 56-7 win over UTSA, there was concern the junior signal-caller could miss a significant amount of time.
But fortunately for UT, the school got good news on Sunday when it was revealed that Ewers is listed as week-to-week and could return after next weekend’s game against Louisiana Monroe, according to a report from ESPN’s Pete Thamel.
“There’s no set timetable for a return, but optimism after consulting with doctors the last 24 hours,” Thamel said. “Orangebloods first reported the week to week diagnosis.”
The non-contact injury happened in the second quarter of Saturday’s game. Ewers had completed 14-of-16 passes for 185 yards, two touchdowns and an interception before leaving the game and giving way to sophomore QB Arch Manning.
