Atlanta Braves starting pitcher Chris Sale is having a career resurgence this season, his first playing for a team without “Sox,” in the name. Injuries derailed his final seasons in Boston, with Sale making just 31 starts across his final four years for the Red Sox. But now he’s gunning for the pitching triple crown, leading the National League in wins, ERA and strikeouts. The 35 year old has eight All-Star appearances, led the American League in strikeouts twice and has a World Series title to his name, but has yet to win a Cy Young award. If his form holds through the rest of the season, that should be rectified as well.
Which brings us to today’s quiz. The strikeout title for the 2024 season is far from finished in the National League, with San Diego’s Dylan Cease hot on Sale’s heels. With that being said, can you name the pitchers to lead the American League and National League in K’s every season since 2000?
Good luck!
