It’s been 12 years since Adrian Peterson won the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award, which means it’s been 12 years since a non-quarterback won the distinction. Philadelphia Eagles running back Saquon Barkley is making a legitimate case to end the QB streak. Barkley ran for a career-high 255 yards and two touchdowns against the Los Angeles Rams on “Sunday Night Football,” reaching 302 total yards from scrimmage by adding four receptions for 47 yards. He was asked about his possible MVP campaign after the 37-20 win.
“We’ll start thinking about that when the season’s over,” he told Pro Football Talk’s Myles Simmons. “I love being in that conversation. It’s cool and all. But it’s a team sport, and if you told me before the year I could win the MVP but lose the Super Bowl, or win the Super Bowl but not MVP, I’m taking the Super Bowl.”
Which brings us to today’s quiz. Barkley’s 1,649 yards from scrimmage are the most in the NFL so far this year, and he joins Derrick Henry as the only backs with more than 1,000 rushing yards so far in 2024. With that being said, can you name the running backs who have rushed for at least 220 yards in a single game?
Good luck!
