Valence’s The Tighters are again, and this time they’ve crossed borders to ship rootsy gold. Their luxurious new mission, Swedish Connection, unites three heavyweight voices from Sweden’s reggae scene: Papa Dee, Efia Abu, and Dan I Locks, every voicing unique riddims drawn from the band’s 2025 album Pretty Love.
The mission is a basic Jamaican showcase in format: vocal cuts paired with dub variations, offered with heat and intention. It feels each timeless and up to date.
Papa Dee has been a cornerstone of Scandinavian reggae for the reason that early Nineties, serving to construct the area’s scene into one thing the world pays consideration to. All three are Swedish reggae icons, every bringing their very own distinct voice.

Efia Abu attracts from roots reggae, soul, jazz, and people, formed by a heritage spanning northern Skåne and Ghana’s Ashanti Area. Dan I Locks rounds out the trio along with his trademark militant supply, honed over many years on the worldwide circuit as a founding member of Deng Deng Hifi sound system.
Behind the desk, legendary producer Roberto Sánchez blended and dubbed the mission at A-Lone Ark Muzik Studio in Spain. Dr Charty then mastered it at Bat Data Studio in France, operating it via a basic Studer A80 MKL tape machine. Its genuine analogue heat exhibits.

ABOUT THE TIGHTERS
French roots reggae band The Tighters construct their sound launch by launch, rooted in Jamaican custom however formed by a heat European sensibility. Their debut LP Otherwise, blended by Roberto Sánchez, pairs unique cuts with dub variations to highly effective impact.
They’ve collaborated with Jah Myhrakle, Keith & Tex, and Joe Pilgrim. Pageant slots alongside Luciano and Collie Buddz verify a band steadily discovering their second.
