After a sloppy start to the game on both sides, Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb scored the game’s first TD just before halftime against the Pittsburgh Steelers on “Thursday Night Football.”
The TD was especially significant given the fact that Chubb suffered a gruesome left knee injury during the 2023 season against Pittsburgh.
Thursday night marks Chubb’s first game against the Steelers since the injury and only his fifth start of the season.
Before his TD before the half on Thursday, Chubb’s only other TD of the season came in his first game back against the Cincinnati Bengals on Oct. 20.
The TD run from Chubb capped off an impressive 12-play, 80-yard drive after the Browns had done next to nothing on their previous possessions.
The Browns are looking to pull off another upset in the AFC North. After Deshaun Watson ruptured his right Achilles tendon during Week 7, Jameis Winston led the Browns to a shocking win over the Baltimore Ravens the following week.
Aside from the rivalry, the TD run had to feel extra special for Chubb given what transpired on the field the last time he faced Pittsburgh.
