Afrobeat singer Asake has shared the story behind his unexpected collaboration with Wizkid on the hit track MMS, saying “I didn’t know he was going to jump on it”.
Asake made the comments during a recent Instagram Live session, where he spoke about working with his senior colleague for the first time.
Also, Asake revealed that he had initially envisioned a different artist for the feature, but music producer P.Prime had other plans. “I had someone else in mind, but P.Prime played the song for Wizkid and he loved it”, Asake explained. Meanwhile, Wizkid’s impromptu feature on the song has been hailed as a highlight of Asake’s recently released third studio album, Lungu Boy.
