After trading star outfielder Kyle Tucker to the Chicago Cubs last week, the Houston Astros made a much-needed addition to their lineup on Friday in free-agent first baseman Christian Walker.

Agreeing to a three-year, $60M deal, the power-hitting right-handed slugger is moving to a ballpark that fits his hitting profile perfectly.

Over the last three seasons, Walker has averaged 32 home runs and 94 RBI with a .250/.332/.481 slash line while winning three National League Gold Glove Awards.

The Astros’ first base production was abysmal last season, with Jose Abreu and Jon Singleton combining for 15 home runs and 49 RBI.
