The Gargamel Buju Banton is promising fans that the second staging of the Intimate Concert, which he will co-headline along with Beres Hammond, will be an unforgettable experience.
“It’s a perfectly, well balanced and aligned event which aims to entertain my people and bring them the class of what Jamaica has to present to the world,” he told World A Reggae at the official media launch of the Intimate Concert held at the ROK Hotel in Kingston on Thursday night.
The Intimate Concert will be held at Plantation Cove in St. Ann on January 4, 2025. Also slated to perform are Wayne Wonder, Romaine Virgo, and Queen of Reggae, Marcia Griffiths.
The launch was well attended by members of corporate Jamaica; including representatives from Red Stripe and Guinness which are the official sponsors. It also saw the attendance of the Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment and Sports, Olivia ‘Babsy’ Grange.
Unfortunately, Wayne Wonder and Romain Virgo were unable to attend, but they did send virtual greetings and also promised memorable sets at the show.
Marcia Griffiths on the other hand was present and provided brief remarks:
“It’s definitely going to be intimate. There’s nothing like communication and an energy when it’s intimate and communicating with the audience when it’s positive. So, make it a date,” the Queen of Reggae said.
The first staging of the concert was New Year’s Day 2023. It saw thousands of fans turning out to support the musical legends. During that staging, there were appearances by L.U.S.T, D’Yani, and Nitty Kutchie.
