Caitlin Clark once again proves she’s class personified.

At a time when fans, specifically internet trolls, have conjured up an imaginary feud between Clark and Angel Reese, the Fever star has lavished praise upon her rookie counterpart. While reacting to news of Reese’s season-ending injury, Clark congratulated the Sky forward for her historic rookie campaign that saw her eclipse several WNBA rebounding records.

“It’s definitely sad anytime you see anyone go down with an injury, especially people that you came into this league with, whether it’s Cam [Brink], whether it’s Angel,” Clark said, via Chloe Peterson of IndyStar. “Especially Angel — you want to see her finish out this year. Obviously, she’s had a historic year, and she’s done some incredible things.”

Clark further praised Reese for having “the best motor in the league,” pointing to the Sky forward’s tireless pursuit of loose balls and rebounds every time she steps on the court. The Fever guard said Reese “just doesn’t stop working” and proved that her skills at the collegiate level translated to the pros.

“Congratulations to her. I thought she had a tremendous year,” Clark added.

Last week, Reese sent shockwaves through the basketball world by blaming Clark’s fanbase for directing unjust vitriol at her and concocting a narrative of jealousy between the two athletes. Reese also denied the existence of “a beef” between the two while calling her fellow rookie “an amazing player.”

The rivalry was also rooted in the fact that both women were leading candidates to win the Rookie of the Year honor. However, Reese’s season-ending injury has more or less confirmed that Clark — who leads the WNBA in assists (8.5) and 3PM (111 and counting) — will walk away with the honor.

Clark’s Fever strengthened their hold over the third seed in the Eastern Conference Sunday with a 104-100 win over Dream. With just four games left in the season, they look to build more momentum ahead of the upcoming playoffs.
