Anthony Reyes started his life’s work fishing the waters round New York Metropolis as a child, when his dad would take him to the Bronx River to spherical up small goldfish close to the rocks, grabbing them by hand. He was bit in that very same river by a snapping turtle, which nearly took off a chunk of his thumb.

He’s now the captain of the Marilyn Jean IV, considered one of a shrinking variety of constitution boats that set sail from the piers in Sheepshead Bay, Brooklyn.
