The Philadelphia Eagles did not trail on their way to a 27-13 win over in-state rival Pittsburgh on Sunday.

The Steelers got as close as 17-13 before being shut out in the second half.

After going the last three games with fewer than 200 passing yards, Eagles QB Jalen Hurts passed for 290 yards and two TDs while rushing for 45 yards and a TD.

Considering RB Saquon Barkley was held below 100 yards rushing (65 yards) for the first time since Nov. 10, Hurts’ performance came at a perfect time.

The Eagles defense is allowing 17.6 points per game, which is tied for the fewest in the NFL, per StatMuse. That type of performance continued with Pittsburgh being held to 10 first downs total, 3-for-10 on third down and only 163 yards the entire game.

The loss to the Eagles is only the second time Pittsburgh has dropped a game since Russell Wilson took over at QB. Along with WR George Pickens not playing due to a hamstring injury, RB Najee Harris was held in check to just 14 yards.

With 877 yards on the ground this season, which ranks 12th in the league, that lack of production proved to be hard for the Steelers to overcome.

The biggest loss for Pittsburgh came when star outside linebacker T.J. Watt exited the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent ankle injury. After another impressive performance that saw him record seven tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble, the Steelers cannot afford to lose Watt, especially as the postseason gets closer.

Pittsburgh (10-4) heads to Baltimore on Saturday while the Eagles (12-2) travel to take on the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
