They say past success in no guarantee for future success, but these players are likely to post big fantasy numbers for the second straight week.
J.K. Dobbins (RB) Los Angeles Chargers
Dobbins got off to a great start this season with a total of 43 fantasy points in his first two games. He managed just over 17 fantasy points over his next two contests but had 96 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 25 carries against the Broncos last week.
Dobbins workload is worth noting for a player that missed 43 games with Baltimore from 2020-23. The Chargers put running back Gus Edwards on the IR with an ankle injury last Saturday which created more opportunities for Dobbins.
Fantasy managers should keep an eye on backup running back Kimani Vidal after the rookie had two catches for 40 yards and a touchdown last week. He’ll see a few touches but with 18.2 fantasy points against a tough Denver defense, Dobbins is clearly the team’s lead back.
Evan Engram (TE) Jacksonville Jaguars
Only Detroit’s Sam LaPorta scored more fantasy points (239.9) than Engram (230.3) last year, but the 2024 season went from bad to worse for Engram when he suffered a hamstring injury after scoring just 1.50 fantasy points against Miami in Week 1.
Engram missed the next four games but returned to the lineup for the Jaguars’ Week 6 matchup against the Bears, leading the team with 10 catches on 10 targets for 102 yards. His performance earned him 18.2 fantasy points, third-most among tight ends.
Jacksonville lost the game 35-16, but Evans wasted no time finding his groove with quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
This week he’ll face a New England Patriots team that’s allowing the ninth-most passing yards per game (228.5) this season. Expect the veteran tight end to score well above his projected 11.1 fantasy points when Jacksonville plays its second-straight game in London.
Tony Pollard (RB) Tennessee Titans
Aside from a six-carry, 14-yard performance against the Packers in Week 3, Pollard has been a steady, if not spectacular, asset for fantasy managers in 2024. The Titans No. 1 running back led the team with 17 carries for 93 yards and a touchdown last week and should do even better on the road against the Bills on Sunday.
