Dani Olmo’s registration at Barcelona is still pending due to the club’s need to meet the rule, which requires them to free up space on their roster.

The club is working to register Dani Olmo before their next match against Athletic Bilbao, and there is a possibility that his registration could be made official just minutes before the game. According to reports, one of the reasons why Ilkay Gundogan will be heading back to Manchester City is to allow the club to free up their financial book which will allow them to register the Spaniard.

However, the sale of Gundogan is not enough for the Catalans giants to register Olmo, the club is also finalising Vitor Roque’s exit to Real Betis but the Brazilian isn’t registered for this season (2024/25) yet either. Mikayil Faye is another player expected to move on, while Clement Lenglet is also surplus to requirements but finding a new club for the Frenchman has been difficult with less than two weeks to the end of the 2024 summer transfer window.

How will Barcelona register Dani Olmo for the 2024/25 season?

(1) Barcelona is also close to finalizing a deal with Aramark for the sale of Barça Studios, which would enable them to register Olmo.

(2) Barcelona are also looking to get a new deal from Nike, the money might be enough for the club to register the forward player.

(3) The Sale of more players or reduction of the wages of some key players in the club, will reduce the cost of players’ salaries for the new season.

How much did Barcelona sign Dani Olmo?

Barcelona signed Olmo for €55m (£46m) and €7m (£5m) in add-ons to sign him from RB Leipzig.

Barcelona recently sealed a deal worth €40m with catering and logistics firm Aramark, however, they still need to raise €60m to cover the non-payments for the sale of Barca Vision. Unless the club manages to raise the remaining amount, they won’t be able to sell any more players for La Liga 2024/25 season.

Barcelona fans will hope that the club will sort out the situation before their next league game against Bilbao.
