The Italian achieved the rare feat of winning all three round-robin matches in straight sets to punch his ticket to Saturday’s semifinal.
The run in Turin perfectly encapsulates a dominant year that has seen him register a whopping 15 victories over top-10 players and at least 10 wins over top-5 ranked stars. While he didn’t win majors in 2023, Sinner’s ascension truly began last season when he finished with a 64-15 record and reached the finals at Indian Wells and ATP Finals and the semifinals at Wimbledon, besides winning two ATP 500 and one ATP 1000 titles.
