Louisiana – Louisiana State University wide receiver Kyren Lacy is wanted for negligent homicide and other charges after police say he left the scene of a deadly crash on Dec. 17 on Louisiana State Highway 20.
According to the Louisiana State Police, Lacy was recklessly driving a 2023 Dodge Charger southbound around noon, passing multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed. He crossed the centerline, driving in the northbound lane in a designated No-Passing-Zone, police reported.

As he was illegally passing other vehicles, the driver of a pickup truck braked and swerved to the right to avoid a head-on collision with Lacy, police said. Behind the pickup truck was a 2017 Kia Cadenza which also swerved left to avoid crashing into Lacy. However, as the Cadenza avoided impact, it crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a 2017 Kia Sorento going southbound, authorities stated.
Louisiana State Police report Lacy drove around the crash scene and fled south on Highway 20 without stopping to help, call emergency services, or report his involvement.

Detectives say 78-year-old Herman Hall, who was a passenger in the Kia Sorento, died from his injuries at the hospital.
Louisiana troopers obtained an arrest warrant for Lacy for negligent homicide, felony hit-and-run, and reckless operation of a vehicle after he was identified as the driver of the Dodge Charger.

Authorities say they are in communication with Lacy and his legal representation to turn him in.
Lacy transferred to LSU in 2022 and announced he was declaring for the NFL draft on Dec. 19, two days after the crash, on his X page.
