The two artists are known for their long-standing friendship and collaborative history and have shared both personal and professional milestones, making the news of Da LES‘ health crisis a deeply personal blow for L-Tido.

“Me and him (Da LES) had a fallout earlier this year and this like the first time in 15 years we were friends and we made up literally a month before he went to the hospital, so that messed me up. We were starting to speak every day now, things were going back to normal,” L-Tido said during an interview on his L-Tido Podcast.

L-Tido shared that The North god suffered a stroke on his birthday, mentioning that he had been invited to join the celebration. “Maybe certain people might not know when Les experienced a stroke was on his birthday.

“So the day before, he’s calling me yo, you gotta pull up on my birthday and he wanted me to be with him even on the night before his birthday to celebrate with his 12 o’clock, but I couldn’t make it for that time I was like no, I will celebrate with him the next day.

“The news came through and it hit me like a ton of bricks because this is like a homie that is like me and he hadn’t been talking much for the last like four months and we just got back to the groove of being cool again and when that happened it put me in a dark place,” he added.

During the interview, the multi-award-winning rapper addressed the rumours, clarifying that Da LES’ family did not ask for donations to cover his medical bills. “One thing I do wanna put out there, I see people rejoicing on social media on certain things. I actually wanna put out first that his family never asked for donations,” said L-Tido. “There like certain friends like just said let’s do something for our boy, let’s just raise money, it was not a public request.”
