Man City have suffered a major injury blow as reports confirm that a top player in the squad will be out injured ahead of a new Premier League season.

Man City winger Oscar Bobb has been identified as the top player of the club who suffered a severe injury just days before the Premier League season officially kicks off.

As City aims for a record-extending fifth consecutive Premier League title in the 2024-25 season, Bobb was anticipated to play a crucial role. The 21-year-old made a positive impact last season with several key appearances, including scoring a decisive goal in a 3-2 victory over Newcastle in January.

Bobb had a stellar pre-season and contributed an assist in the Community Shield against Manchester United. The Norwegian international seemed set to be a primary option for Pep Guardiola on the right wing this season. However, on Wednesday, it was reported by the Daily Mail’s Jack Gaughan that Bobb had sustained a fractured leg, sidelining him for several months.

This injury, coupled with Julian Alvarez’s transfer to Atletico Madrid, might prompt City to explore the market for a new attacker.

Currently, new signing Savio is expected to be Guardiola’s main choice for the right wing, but it remains to be seen as to if other stars such as Phil Foden and Jeremy Doku, are also capable of filling that position.
