Mercedes Mone is among the biggest stars in women’s wrestling. She has won championships in every major promotion and is always one of the top draws in her division. So, when AEW signed her in March 2024, it was seen as a significant coup. Her debut at Dynamite Big Business was fitting for an acquisition of her talent level and stature.
Since joining AEW, Mone has quickly established herself as the TBS Women’s champion while using the company’s working relationship with New Japan Pro Wrestling. Mone currently holds the NJPW women’s strong championship.
During a recent interview with Yardbarker via the “Taylor Talks Wrestling” podcast, Mone claimed that she feels no pressure despite having two separate rosters aiming to take her spot at the top of each respective division.
“I don’t really feel any pressure,” Mone said. “I have Kamille by my side, and I always have a plan for everything. I love being a double champion. I love defending my championship. Whatever Tony [Khan] needs, whenever New Japan needs, it just means that I am the greatest. You know? I love all of these new matchups and all of these new people that I get the opportunity to wrestle. Like this is the most fun that I’ve ever had in my career. So, it’s only amazing opportunities, no pressure for me.”
