Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, recently thrilled hundreds of congregants at a church service held in honor of his mother’s 70th birthday.
The music star, who had previously staged a birthday party for his mother, took to the stage to perform a special song in her honor.
Clad in traditional ankara attire, Odumodublvck got the congregation on their feet, asking them to clap along as he sang Hallelujah, Hallelujah. However, the rapper momentarily paused his performance, expressing dissatisfaction with the sound quality of the microphone. He explained that he had a special song prepared for his mother and wanted to ensure it sounded perfect.
This heartwarming display of filial devotion is a far cry from Odumodublvck’s usual rap persona. Interestingly, his foray into gospel-inspired music was previously met with amusement by fellow artist Davido, who couldn’t help but laugh at Odumodublvck’s unexpected genre shift.
