Real Madrid head coach, Carlo Ancelotti in his latest pre-match press conference has confirmed the expected return date for Vinicius Jr.

During a press conference, Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti provided an update on Vinícius Jr’s recovery and a potential return date following his recent injury. The Brazilian forward sustained a biceps femoris injury in his left leg during the match against Leganés on November 24, which has sidelined him for three games so far (a victory over Getafe and losses to Liverpool and Athletic Club).

Vinícius is expected to be out for three to four weeks but has shown significant progress, recently rejoining team training sessions. His anticipated return is December 14, when Real Madrid faces Rayo Vallecano. Ancelotti will look to players like Kylian Mbappé, Brahim Díaz, and Jude Bellingham to fill the void left by Viní, who is the team’s top scorer this season with 12 goals and five assists across all competitions.

Ancelotti shared his optimism, stating: “Seeing Vinícius back is great news. He’s recovered very well. He won’t be available for tomorrow’s game, but he’ll be ready for the Champions League.” The manager also mentioned David Alaba, noting that the defender still needs a month to fully recover and is expected back in January.

While Vinícius is set to miss Real Madrid’s upcoming La Liga match against Girona on December 8, depending on his recovery progress, he is likely to make his comeback in their Champions League clash against Atalanta on December 10.
