Quarterback Russell Wilson hopes he’s wearing black and gold in 2025.

On the latest episode of HBO’s “Hard Knocks,” cameras followed the QB at the opening of a Why Not You Foundation in Pittsburgh, founded by him and his wife, singer-songwriter Ciara. During the event, a fan asked Wilson — who is on a one-year deal — if he would re-sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

“Hopefully. I love it here,” Wilson said (h/t CBS Sports Bryan DeArdo). “It’s cool. Hope we can win a Super Bowl.”

After a disastrous two-year stint with the Denver Broncos, Wilson has salvaged his career in Pittsburgh.

Since replacing QB2 Justin Fields in Week 7, Wilson is 6-2 in eight starts. He has completed 64.7% of his passes for 1,912 yards and 13 touchdowns and tossed three interceptions during this span. The Steelers (10-4) are first in the AFC North and have already clinched a playoff berth.

Wilson’s price tag may be increasing. Spotrac estimates his market value is a two-year deal worth $40.2M annually, 14th among QBs. The Steelers may have some financial flexibility, though. Per Spotrac’s projections, they’ll have $56.65M in cap space in 2025.

In November, Wilson, 36, told ESPN’s Hannah Storm he wants to play “another five to seven years.” Still, that doesn’t seem likely.

The 2025 NFL Draft isn’t loaded with elite QB talent. Per ESPN’s Jordan Reid, Miami QB Cam Ward and Colorado QB Shedeur Sanders are the only passers with first-round grades.

The draft’s weak QB class may convince the Steelers to re-sign Wilson. If they don’t want to commit long-term, they could franchise-tag him.

Regardless, Wilson is in a solid position. The former Seattle Seahawks star has shown why he may deserve to stay in Pittsburgh for another season.
