Richard Blanco joins Kevin Younger to learn and talk about “Questions of Journey,” by Elizabeth Bishop, and his personal poem, “My Father in English.” Blanco is the creator of two memoirs and 4 poetry collections, together with “Learn how to Love a Nation” and “Homeland of My Physique.” He’s the recipient of a number of honors, together with a Nationwide Humanities Medal, a Lambda Literary Award, a Paterson Poetry Prize, and a Thom Gunn Award for Homosexual Poetry. He was chosen by President Barack Obama because the fifth inaugural poet in United States historical past, and was named because the first-ever American Academy of Poets schooling ambassador.
