The New Orleans Saints have lost six straight games heading into Week 9, but some good news about their offense surfaced on Friday.

Derek Carr has been removed from the Saints’ injury report, which means he will play on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

Carr has missed the last three games with an oblique injury. The Saints have struggled on offense since the veteran quarterback went down. New Orleans scored a total of just 18 points over its last two games.

Spencer Rattler has started for the Saints in Carr’s absence, but the rookie was benched in the second half of last Sunday’s loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Jake Haener took over and did not exactly provide New Orleans with a spark.

Carr has 989 yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions in five games this season. The Saints got off to a historic start to the year and scored 91 total points in their first two games, but they came back to earth after that. Everyone on their offense has taken a step back without Carr, so they should have a great chance to get on track against Carolina.
