A pesky squirrel turned a Florida household’s life the other way up after the critter chewed by electrical wiring, sparking a fireplace that left their dwelling a charred shell.
Donnie Banta and Stacey Davis have been sleeping with their youngsters and pets inside their Panama Metropolis dwelling on Jan. 31 when an odd noise and burning scent from the attic jolted them awake, WMBB reported.
“We have been all asleep, and I heard the breaker flip within the again,” Banta stated.
“So I received as much as see what the noise was, and I heard rustling within the attic, and I might scent {an electrical} odor.”
When the mom of two realized there was a fireplace, she scurried to get everybody out of the home safely.
“It was very frantic. We have been scrambling, attempting to wake everyone up and get all of them out,” Davis recalled.
