The Super Eagles of Nigeria retained its position in Africa and the world following the latest ranking released by the body governing football in the world, FIFA.
The Super Eagles remained in the 6th and 39th position in Africa and the world, respectively, after the ranking was released on the official website of FIFA on Thursday, September 19, 2024. Despite Nigeria’s impressive performance at the last two Africa Cup of Nations qualifying game against Benin Republic and Rwanda, they still maintained their position.
Morocco are the top ranked team in Africa, and 14th in the world, Senegal, Egypt, Cote d’Ivoire and Tunisia complete the top five teams on the continent. Some other Africa countries, which include Cameroon, dropped two places (53) on the list while South Africa (59) and Ghana (70) also dropped two and six places, respectively.
