New York Yankees pitcher Luis Gil and Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Paul Skenes are the 2024 MLB Rookies of the Year, becoming the first pair of pitchers to own the distinction since 2011. Gil and Skenes are two young flamethrowers, but their paths to winning the award were quite different. Gil made his MLB debut in 2021 before missing the majority of the next two seasons recovering from Tommy John surgery. Skenes, meanwhile, was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB amateur draft, and made his big league debut this season after just 12 minor league starts.

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Gil finished the season with a 3.50 ERA over 29 regular season starts, striking out 171 batters in 151.2 innings, while Skenes posted a microscopic 1.96 ERA with 170 K’s in just 133 frames. With that being said, can you name every player to be named A.L. and N.L. Rookie of the Year since 2000?

Good luck!
